Government Offices/Summer of Fun

Well ladies and gentlemen, if you have ever been in a government office in California.. well I'm sorry. Today I had to take a friend to the Social Security office, it was my first time, and hopefully last. I can't remember disappointment like that since I didn't get that BB gun I wanted for Christmas, lol, but seriously avoid that place at all costs.
After that, I had a meeting with a friend who spent years in the radio industry regarding a possible new internet radio show. I can't say much about it now but it's looking very promising. We need more broadcast without the commercialism and regulation by Clear Channel and the FCC. I will keep you guys updated as I find out more.
Later tonight, I will be going into the studio to do some more recording for Shindai Lovers. It's going so very well. This year will be a great year for music as there are a number of great 80's and 90's bands making a comeback. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see two of my favorite bands, Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails, play together this summer. What a treat, and an inspiration.
Gonna go running, finish dinner, then the studio. Keep it real.

Music and Law

Hey guys, I thought I would drop a line to let everyone know how things are going on my end over here. First off, what the hell is going on with music nowadays... we have musicians forming power pop bands and going to the charts in a weeks time, but yet if you're out to bring great music and talent to the scene, your hopes of a chart topping hit are pretty slim. Same with movies... what happened to actual creativity. Let's count how many remakes there have been in the past two years.. and even WORSE... remakes of great movies that just turn into a badly made Michael Bay flick. Sickening if you ask me. Anyway!, I spent last night in the studio with Shindai Lovers working through the songs and really going "detail oriented" on them. I must say things went very very well and it's looking like it will be a legendary band and album. Today, I have been locked into my Legal-X stuff, whoever thought a business partner was so invaluable.. till they go out of town for a month. Yikes! We're pulling into the final stretch of the work day, then it's off to my daily run. Keep it real folks.

Where does the time go?

This week has been long, but eventful. Nathyn and I have been in the studio recording guitar and vocal dubs for the album. It's great to be able to say things are really starting to shape up, and they are... but we are missing two key elements from the band. Our drummer and bass player have decided to leave us due to other commitments, nothing negative. So now, the search begins for a dedicated percussionist and bass player who are willing to dedicate time to the studio, and later touring.
Besides putting together a band, writing music, and marketing it... (if you didn't know) I run a Legal Support Services corporation in Los Angeles. My boss has been out of town for two days and you know what that means... I am at the controls. Well I will tell you this, I haven't had one night yet free of nightmares.. I think it's the stress getting to me. Anyhow, it sure beats not having anything to do and wasting wonderful life away.
If you want a little sneak peak into the life of Nathyn Knott, the vocalist of Shindai Lovers, you can check out his myspace. Pretty neat guy. www.myspace.com/nathynknott
